Happy Wednesday Love Bugs,
I know it’s been a while since I last posted, I was in the process of moving and working on my next book. Now, I’m back with new content for you all!
Before I moved, I started brainstorming how I wanted my wardrobe to look. I’ve been in a sunken place where I walk into my closet and I hate almost everything in it. I needed a fresh start on a new wardrobe, but I couldn’t just buy it all in one sitting.
Building a wardrobe takes time and I discovered that it’s okay to just buy one piece at a time. Also, one of my goals is to strive for better/high quality clothing. At the time I was packing up to move, I realized that much of my wardrobe was purchased out of convenience. With these ideas in mind, I’ve decided to expand my horizon as far as brands go, in search of more quality based staple pieces that match my personal style. In a later post I will share with you how to discover your personal style.
Because I am following my new style philosophy, I ordered one item from them. To me, one item at least sets the tone for the whole brand as far as quality goes. If it goes well, then I will order multiple pieces and give a grand review. I ordered the Grey Valencia J Lux Basix Diagonal Strap Dress in a size Large.
So when I ordered, it took about 4 business days to arrive which was very quick to me. Of course, I was anxious so it seemed like forever. When it arrived I instantly noticed that even their packaging is branded which excited me even more for what I was about to see after opening it.
Style + Fit
When I opened the package and took out the dress, the thickness of the fabric delighted me. It was not something I was used to having in my closet. It was just as it is pictured on the website which added to my confidence of buying from this brand.
When trying on the dress, I was a bit skeptical because the size range was small to large, which even with the sizing chart, I wasn’t sure if it would actually fit me. Many other sites, like Fashion Nova, place me in the size range of 1x and 2x, so I was worried that I would have to return it.
I was pleasantly surprised when I slipped it on and it actually fit! It did fit slightly snug, but I believe that’s because of the fitted style and how it is made to fit versus it not being the right size. (Yesssss!!) I felt truly snatched in it which is everything I could ask for and more. It’s a really good maxi that you can wear around the house or wear it out for date night. Stay tuned for photos on my IG story. I especially enjoy the detail diagonal strap across the top.
Overall, I am very happy with the dress and I do intend to buy multiple items from JLux Label and doing a full review in the near future. The price points are slightly higher than what I’m used to, but I believe its worth it to pay a bit more for better quality. I love how their styles take a modern spin on minimalism in terms of silhouettes and details.
